Welcome Binaakwii-Giizis
Posted on: October 6, 2022
Good Morning,
We hope you are doing well today.
This Sunday we will welcome Binaakwii-Giizis (Falling Leaves Moon). The Fall colors are quickly reaching peak, and we hope the wind doesn’t blow the colorful leaves away too soon.
Tribal offices and the Clinic will be closed on Monday, October 10th, in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
On October 8, 2021, President Biden made a proclamation on Indigenous Peoples’ Day. “Since time immemorial, American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians have built vibrant and diverse cultures — safeguarding land, language, spirit, knowledge, and tradition across the generations. On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, our Nation celebrates the invaluable contributions and resilience of Indigenous peoples, recognizes their inherent sovereignty, and commits to honoring the Federal Government’s trust and treaty obligations to Tribal Nations.” Read the full proclamation here.
We hope you have a good day and a terrific weekend.
