Mole Lake Casino and Lodge to host the annual fireworks display this Saturday

Preparations are underway for the Mole Lake Casino and Lodge to host the annual fireworks display. In addition to celebrating the 244th birth of American independence, the Casino is celebrating its 30th anniversary!
Jake Godin, Marketing Director for the Casino, shared, “The Casino hosts the fireworks as a thank you to the community for their support over the years, as well as something fun for the Mole Lake and Sokaogon Chippewa Community. We know how the community looks forward to this every year, and we have increased our show 60% this year over last year. We had plans for a big party, but things have changed due to COVID-19.”
“Last year was the first year we added a live stream of the fireworks on Facebook and it was very successful. We are encouraging all community members to remain safe and consider viewing the fireworks from the comfort of your car, or on the Casino’s Facebook page this year,” Jake continued.
As you wait for the fireworks to begin, you’ll see the Aabita-Niibino-Giizis (Halfway Through the Summer Moon) rise. It will be its fullest this month just after midnight on Saturday. You may also notice Jupiter and Saturn in the southeast. Jupiter will be its closest and brightest for the year on July 14th. As you look east, you may also see the “Summer Triangle”, which includes the stars Vega, Deneb and Altair.
Tribal offices are closed today and Monday in observance of the 4th of July holiday. The SCC Health Clinic is closed on Friday.
We hope you have a safe and fun weekend!
