Kenedy Van Zile and Hodags Celebrate Conference Championship

On Monday, the front end of a doubleheader against the Tomahawk Hatchets put the girls playing on senior night in front of a nearly full house.
The Hodag girls wanted to keep their unblemished conference in tact with a win. The Hatchets took an early 4-2 lead on the Hodags but after that it was all Hodags as the defensive pressure accounted for numerous turnovers and easy baskets. The Tomahawk girls would only score one more point in the first half and the Hodags led after the horn ended the first half 42-5.
The second half was slightly better for the Hatchets as they would score twice as many points in the second half but the Hodags would score 28 to make the final score 70-15.
Leading the Hodags in scoring was Kenedy Van Zile with 26, Rebecca Lawerence, 14 and Cynthia Beavers with 10.
After the game the girls were given the Conference Championship trophy and then cut the net down before the boys game.
The Hodags are currently 11-0 in the conference, and have a home playoff game versus Wausau East tomorrow at 7:00 pm. Good luck to the Hodags!
Congratulations to Kenedy Van Zile and the Hodags!

The players hoist the championship trophy and celebrate their accomplishment.

Conference co-player of the year, Kenedy Van Zile, cuts a chunk of the net for a keepsake.
