| Sokaogon Chippewa Tribal Member Emmitt Deer is 13 years old and a 7th grade student at Crandon School. He is one of 11 students headed to Madison this weekend for the Wisconsin Wrestling Federation Kids Folkstyle State Championship.
Emmitt has participated in wrestling since he was in 4K, and has qualified for state in 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023 and now in 2024!
He’s had many influential people to help guide him through the years. He’s always willing to listen, learn and take the knowledge he’s gained to each match.
Emmitt also has a pretty big cheerleading section, as many family members and friends enjoy watching his matches. His parents, Craig and Sierra (McGeshick) Deer, and his sister Brexley never miss a match!
