Mushrooms from Chequamegon Forest on Display

More than 100 different types of freshly picked mushrooms found in the Chequamegon National Forest were on display to the delight mushroom enthusiasts in the Hiles Town Hall on Saturday, July 21st.

The Hiles area is a prolific area for hunting mushrooms, and has gained the reputation as the “Mushroom Capital of Wisconsin”.

Patrick Leacock, Research Associate at the Field Museum of Chicago and teacher at the School of Art Institute of Chicago, shared his knowledge as an expert in Mycological Studies of mushrooms.
