Tribal Forest Road Closures - 3/22/2018

The Forestry Department has issued road closures on Makwa Road past the Sugar Bush and Bear Trail Road of Indian Route 10.

The final road closure will be tomorrow, March 23rd, on Indian Lane by Frankie Olds's home and Anishinaabe Lane directly off Indian Route 10.

The forest roads are now closed due to the warmer weather and spring break up that is approaching. As the ground continues to thaw, the dirt roads are becoming soft and vulnerable to rutting and damage.

These roads will remain closed until further notice, or until the roads are deemed fit for vehicles to drive on them. Please do not remove the installed road closure signs. The Forestry Department and Roads Department do not have the funding to keep maintaining all the roads, so please stay off these roads.

If you have any questions, please contact Roger Weber at the Forestry Department at 715-889-1590 (cell).
